Data Security & Recovery in Georgetown
What if you arrived at your office this morning, only to find all your computers and information technology were gone? Do you have a data protection plan in place to prevent the unwanted distribution of critical company and client information? These are all important questions to consider in order to successfully back up and recover sensitive (and important) data to your company. Full System Data Recovery
A full system data recovery allows you to recover and retrieve your entire system, including:
- Data
- Applications
- Drivers
- Settings
- Operating Systems
- And more
After a full system recovery is completed, your business’s computers and entire IT system should start, look, and perform exactly as it did before its failure. Don’t let hackers, unexpected disasters (like a fire or office flooding), or system failures prevent you from completing your work as scheduled—call Maryland Computer Service at (301) 202-6521 to set up a full system data recovery consultation.
Differential & Incremental Backups
Similar to a full system data recovery, differential and incremental backups allow you to safely back up and store sensitive business information to prevent data loss. Both differential and incremental backups reduce backup time; however, it may take longer to restore than a traditional, full system data recovery.
Incremental backups don’t copy every single file from backup to backup. Instead, they only copy files that have been altered or changed since the last backup, minimizing backup size.
Differential backups are similar to incremental backups; however, they do not indicate which files have been changed since the last backup, causing each differential backup to be larger than the last.
Selective Data Recovery
In a selective backup, you are able to manually select which files you do and do not want to back up at any given time. However, selective data recovery is not recommended, since the backup is not automatic and employees must manually set a date and time to back up data. However, if a system failure occurs, backed up files and information will be readily available to restore your data and get you back online as quickly as possible.
What Causes IT System Failure?
Although some scenarios are extreme, you can never be too careful when it comes to data protection solutions. There are many things that can cause your IT system to fail, including:
- Hackers – System hackers may try to invade your IT system to steal company data.
- Theft – Intruders may damage and/or steal computers and other IT equipment.
- System Failures – Computers, like any other electrical device, are sometimes unrepairable if they are too old or liquids are spilled in their vicinity.
- Unexpected Disasters – A rare occurrence, unexpected disasters like flooding (from fire sprinklers, burst water pipes, etc.) or fire can cause your system to crash.
